Meet the actors of the African night – lions on the prowl or Aardvark burrowing through a termite mound
When darkness falls, a host of nocturnal animals appear out of nowhere. A drive at night with our spotters is a great way to see predators hunting and other nocturnal species putting on a show.
A night drive might start after a bush sundowner at a remote part of the conservancy or could take place after dinner. Drape yourself in a warm blanket, climb onboard the open game-drive vehicle and let our guides explore the night with you. Search the darkness for that flicker of light from what could only be a pair of eyes. From the elusive Aardvark to bouncing bush babies, nocturnal species are a fascinating part of the African wildlife experience. Predators come out to hunt – lions, hyenas, jackals and if you are lucky – even leopard.
We have enjoyed our days and nights at Manyara ranch. The night drives were exciting, especially the spring hares. We loved the luxurious tents, the delicious meals and friendly welcoming hosts. Thank you!
