Get to know the neighbors – visit a Maasai home in the nearby village outside the conservancy and make new friends
Take the opportunity to visit a Maasai at home to learn about their culture and way of life. These are genuine homes of neighbors and many of our camp staff and not “theme” villages established for tourist.
Ol Tukai and Esilalei villages are situated between Manyara Conservancy and Lake Manyara. These Pastoralist Maasai communities also lie within the Kwakuchinja migration corridor. The two villages have a special relationship with Manyara Ranch and are on the board of the Tanzania Land Conservation Trust, the owners of the ranch. Esilalei and Ol Tukai villages are recipients of financial benefits derived from visitors to the Conservancy.
So far Manyara Ranch has been our absolute favorite stop on our African adventure. Wonderful management, beautiful views, fantastic game! Having Maasai in camp made the stay incredibly unique. This peaceful camp may have the most to offer for the wonderers seeking the intimate Tanzanian experience. Thank you Manyara for the memories.
